US moral and cultural decay at root of mass slaughters

December 19, 2012

The United States has lost its moral compass. A once Christian nation with indelible moral values drawn from the Holy Bible has  pursued a path towards moral degradation referred to in politically correct terms as cultural relativism.  Pushed to its natural limits, cultural relativism means no morality at all.  Come Sodom, come Gomorrah! Anything goes.

It should surprise no one that the Connecticut mass killer sprang from a dysfunctional family environment.  It should surprise no one that the 20-year old psychotic could bond with no one, feel for no one, and that no one cared to confront him, let alone report him out to relevant police authorities.

It should surprise no one, following the evil massacre of young innocents, that the media is obsessed with finding some mental illness as the root cause of the outburst. The only mental illness responsible for this outrage is that afflicting United States society as a whole: the abandonment of unambiguous moral rules and the willingness to explain everything in terms of financial constraints unjustly imposed on mental treatment resources.

“Like an iceberg, we only periodically see the psychotic manifestation, the tip of our shattered culture, but what lies just beneath the surface is a gigantic cultural cancer that is rotting America from within.  The ugly and dangerous truth is that we live in an embarrassing, politically correct culture that exalts and rejoices in the bizarre; aggressively promotes the ‘anything goes’ value system; and vilifies, condemns and mocks traditional societal values and customs at every opportunity.  We’ve embraced a culture of contempt that attacks the very institutions that make for a healthy and strong society and then we’re shocked when it spirals out of control. The only thing I’m shocked about is that anybody is shocked.” Ted Nugent, ‘Connecticut killings a result of moral decay’, The Washington Times, December 19, 2012

The fact that this message of truth emanates from an American rock ‘n’ roll activist, and not from President Barack Obama, says a great deal about how extensively the moral and cultural rot has made its way across the so-called educated elite in the United States.
